Tika von Mehren
Tika von Mehren is a Costume Designer and Local 705 Costumer based in Los Angeles.
As a passionate and versatile costume designer, Tika has contributed to a wide range of film, television and theatre projects. Her credits include the short film Sardinia, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short, and M.F.A. starring Francesca Eastwood. She has worked as a Costumer on numerous TV series like The L Word: Generation Q, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels and For All Mankind, collaborating with costume designers like Christie Wittenborn and Esther Marquis.
Her background includes a foundation in theater, with a BA in Theater from Temple University, complemented by hands-on training in costume design and garment construction. She honed her skills in period costumes at United American Costumes, where she served as Head of the Women’s Department, leading a multi-person team, overseeing the creation of key wardrobe pieces and stock pulling for hundreds of US and international productions.
A term at London College of Fashion provided her with a global perspective on design, enhancing her approach to storytelling through costumes and fashion. She has also worked across Europe for the Amazon Studios production, Hunters II.
Whether designing for film, television, or dance, she thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys working closely with directors, designers, and actors to craft looks that resonate with the audience.
